About Study Swamp
I'm Angélica Vélez, a Ph.D. student in Neuroscience and the founder of Study Swamp. I eat, sleep, and breathe science, which is why I am working to become an independent scientist and make a career out of my love for all things STEM! As a Ph.D. student, I focus most of my time studying the same niche topics, but I wanted to branch out and learn more about interesting science outside of my bubble.
Science is often hard to understand because each field and topic has its own jargon and many science articles are dry and require a lot of background knowledge. This is unfortunate, as some of the most interesting findings are buried behind a wall of complex language! So, I decided to start my own blog where I can break down information into simpler terms, both for myself and anyone else who wants to learn about science without these barriers to entry.
